How to apply mascara like a Pro

1.    Curl your lashes - Curling your lashes makes applying mascara easier, your lashes look fuller and your eyes look bigger. Use a lash curler that's wide enough to cover the entire lash line and that the rubber pads are properly in place. For a detailed guide click here.

2.    Remove excess of mascara - removing excess mascara will prevent clumps, and enables you to build layers of mascara for a more flattering, dramatic effect. Make sure your wand has even amount of product on it, without any globs or clumps. Dab your wand carefully inside the tube to remove the excess of mascara. You can also use tissue for removing the product drops and clumps. Do not pump the wand into the tube to get more mascara on the brush - this pushes air into the tube and dries out your product.

3.    Use a Zigzag manner - Start applying mascara by placing the brush at the very base of the lashes in a "zigzag" movement. This will help separate your lashes so that they don't stick together like spider legs. When you get halfway out, stroke the wand straight along the lashes to lengthen them.


4.    Be restrained - a few thin coats of mascara look much more natural than one heavy coat, so use restraint quantity! Do not let your first coat of mascara dry completely before applying second coat.
