How to apply eye shadow?
To apply an eye shadow use three different colors: Choose a light… medium and dark shade of the same color family.
1. The light shade is for the lid.
2. The medium color is for the crease.
3. The darker color for the lash line.
Start light then go darker. Blending is the magic word!
Brush the light base color to the entire eye up to the brow bone, apply the medium color on the crease with your brush, blend back and forth. With a flat shadow brush, line your eyes with the darkest shade. Blend, finish with a coat of mascara.
Choose shadows that make the color of your eyes pop
Matching the color of your eye with a shadow actually brings the color out. At the same time, contrasting colors make eyes pop too.
Highlighter can make or break your look
When applying dark shadow to the crease of your eye, be careful to blend only on the outside edge. Get to close to the eye and you’ll cause your eyes to look teeny and beady.
Set shadow with a great base
The secret to keeping shadow in place for hours is a shadow base, or primer.
How to pair shadow with lips
Lips & Eyes must be contrasted to each other. If you choose a dramatic eye look- match it with a light, gentle lip color. If you are not sure which is what go for a Cold-Warm contrast:
Warm colors: Gold, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow
Cold colors: Green, Blue, Violet Purple
